MY JOURNEY - Left to Raise My Family

I am a single mother of three boys and one girl. In 2013, my husband left Kenya for Oman and disappeared, never to return home. I was left with the responsibility of raising our four children on my own.

I had no job or reliable source of income, and providing for my family became extremely difficult.

Surviving Through Hardship

Our living conditions were difficult, and I relied on casual work to meet our needs. I washed clothes, worked in construction, and took on other available jobs to support my children.

RFI Came to Our Rescue

From 2014, RFI Foundation began supporting my family. The Foundation helped us with rent, utility bills, school fees, food, and clothing.

This support made it possible for my children to continue with their education and for our family to meet essential needs.

Supporting My Children's Education

My first son completed high school and went on to pursue college with support from RFI Foundation.

RFI also provided full support for my daughter, including her education, accommodation, and upkeep.

An Empowerment Opportunity

RFI Foundation empowered me with capital to start a small business. The business became successful and helped me meet some of my family’s basic needs.

Standing With Us Through COVID-19

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused my business to collapse. Even after this setback, RFI Foundation continued providing food and shelter for my family.

I remain grateful to RFI Foundation and Pastor John Macere for the compassion and support they have shown my family throughout our journey.
